I own/carry a glock model 30 for personal defense. A wonderful gun, easy to take care of, indestructable, and reliabilty/accuracy to boot. I recently purchased a Winchester Model 70 in 30.06 springfield. I know it is at least post 1992 because it has a DBM, which according to the timelines posted here first appeared in 1992. I am hoping it is post 1994 due to the return of the pre 64' type action. I do believe it has a claw ejector but i'm not 100% sure that I am looking at it right to make that determination. I purchased it at AW Petersons (they clam to be the oldest gun shop in Florida ??) but thier serial number book only went up to 1992.
The serial number is G37766. I have looked and looked and looked; then I looked and looked some more but I can not find a serial number guide that goes past 1981 (when it was purchased by USRA).
The only other info I can add is that I do know it was made in the New Haven , CN. plant due to that being engraved on the barrel. Also engraved is 30.06 DBM plus a couple other tidbits that I can't remember right now.
Well, that's it for me. I welcome any responses especially as to the year this rifle was made. I am very eager to find that out.
